How to change your Fortnite names?

To change your Fortnite name first you need to log in to your Epic Games account. Then hover on your username on the top right side and click account. You will observe a blue Pencil button positioned on the display name field’s right side after logging in. Click the button. Then, you will notice a pop-up window. Entry your new display name in the first text field and verify the name by entering it again in the second one. Put the tick button to the box that needs your confirmation that you cannot change the display name for two weeks. You must have to select this box to change the name. Click the blue Confirm button to finish the task.

At last, scroll up to the bottom of the account page and click Save Changes. Now, your brand new Fortnite identity is all set to be publicly displayed.

Fortnite Name Criteria

You cannot put anything as Fortnite names, there are some restrictions of Epic Games.

1. - Avoid the word ‘Epic’ in your username.
  - While entering a name, choose only letters, numbers, and spaces. You cannot use any punctuation mark in your name.
  - You cannot have an offensive name.
  - A name can contain 5 to 32 characters.

Username versus Display Name

The Fortnite username and display name are not the same. The username and the display name remain the same when you first create the account. However, your username and display name can be different in the future.

The username is your account identifier and registers in the direct URL. Your username will help you get account status and information. While actively playing the game, your username appears on the screen. The players can change their usernames once every six months.
